Hindraf. An illegal organization which claims to be the “voice” of hero for the Indian ethnic, had demanded for an equality of status quo as the “bumiputera” in Malaysia.
A proposal will be made by Hindraft leader, M. Manoharan, to our Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak. He proposed that “all Malaysia who born after 31st of August 1957 should be accorded as Bumiputera status. He claims that the proposal was made to suit “one Malaysia” concept?
Bumiputera can be defined as :
Peninsular Malaysia
"If one of the parents is Muslim Malay or Orang Asli as stated in Article 160 (2) Federal Constitution of Malaysia; thus the child is considered as a Bumiputra"
Sabah
"If a father is a Muslim Malay or indigenous native of Sabah as stated in Article 160A (6)(a) Federal Constitution of Malaysia; thus his child is considered as a Bumiputra"
Sarawak
"If both of the parent are indigenous native of Sarawak as stated in Article 160A (6)(b) Federal Constitution of Malaysia; thus their child is considered as a Bumiputra"
In article 153, the federal constitution of Malaysia had indicates that Yang Di Pertuan Agong will be the safeguard of Bumiputera’s interests. It means that Yang Di Pertuan Agong is the “supreme power” to maintain the interest of Bumiputera, the status quo in demand of Hindraf.
Why Hindraf really wants the Bumiputera status quo? Perhaps that they wanted to have the “special” rights own by the Malays and the origins of which stated in the Federal Constitution. They want to be treated equally as Bumiputera, as they were born in Malaysia, live in Malaysia and working in Malaysia.
Demanding against the constitutions, showing that they are not thankful to the Bumiputera and the state ruler of Malaysia, DYMM Yang Di Pertuan Agong. They forget the “Social Contract” which had been “agreed”.
They had been given the citizenship of Malaysia which will not be ever given to Malays in India. It is impossible for every Bumiputera in Malaysia to get the citizenship of India in every angle if they migrated to India.
And the Bumiputera and the Malays’ rulers were “very generous” to give them the status of citizenship in their country.
They demand for the Bumiputera status again while we give them the right to practice their religion, customs and they are free to practice their way of life in Malaysia.
The Government of Malaysia allows the Indians to build their temples and even help them to build their biggest temple at Batu Caves! The Government even funds their religious activities, their community and helps them to get a better life in Malaysia compared to their fathers and grand grandfathers.
We give them opportunity to be well educated in Malaysia. Their children get the same right as the Bumiputera children in school. They are even free to run their business in Malaysia. They get rich and richer, even some of them are declared as business tycoons in Malaysia. Ananda Krishnan and Tony Fernandez are some of the most successful fellow among them.
By the citizenship given, the ethnic Indian gets their every chance to participate in politics. They had been given the chance to cast their vote on the Malaysia election. They have their right to choose their state assemblyman, members of Parliament, and even the ruling government. Most of the Indian are very good citizens to vote for the current Malaysia ruling government as the sign of “thankfulness”. And these Indians are of course are not Hindraf!
Deyyy Hindraf!
Will the Malaysia’s Bumiputera get the same life if they live in India right now?
Will Bumiputera get their right to run their business “without any question” in India?
Will we get every single chance to cast vote in India state elections?
Will we get subsidies in India just the same like you now?
And will we get what you get in Malaysia if we migrate to your very own origin country?
Think about it for thousands times and you will get the same answer.
And the answer is still “NO”, right?
Please be a good citizen of Malaysia. Stop making riot! Do not ever ask or question the right of the Bumiputera as it mention in the “social contract”.
Do not try to “touch” the “social contract” or even ask to review the “social contract” again.
It “hurt” us, the bumiputera!
And don’t ever think to threat us with “road demos” or “unlawful gathering” if we reject your demands, because we “will not ever” granted your wish. I remind you not to blame us if you are arrested making riots to our beloved country. This is our beloved country, you and me!
You get so much from us in this country. Why do you demand for more? You touch our sensitivity. Don’t you feel “guilty”? You make bumiputera angry. Don’t you think what we feel by making such demands? We can’t accept it. Don’t say that we are “racist”. Being “racist” has nothing to do with your demands. We are just protecting out right. We are the real bumiputera in Malaysia according to the history, constitutions and the “world” even “certified” our status.
Please. Live in peace. We are “1 Malaysian”!
